Meeting Minutes

December 15, 2011

The quarterly meeting of the Hornell Area Industrial Development Corporation was held on Thursday, December 15, 2011, at 5:50 PM, at 40 Main Street, Hornell, NY.

PRESENT: Samuel Nasca, Chairman
              George Prete, Vice Chairman
               Shawn Hogan, Treasurer
              Joseph Foreman, Secretary

ABSENT: David Parmley, Asst. Treasurer

ALSO: James Griffin, CEO, Executive Director
         Wanda White, Administrative Asst.
         John Dagon, Agency Attorney
         Andrew Poole, Reporter Evening Tribune

Chairman Nasca called the meeting to order at 5:50 PM.

MINUTES

Secretary Joseph Foreman, presented the minutes of the September 21, 2011 meeting. A motion was made by Shawn Hogan, seconded by George Prete, to approve the minutes as presented. Carried All.

FINANCIAL REPORT

The financial reports were waived until next meeting upon motion from Joseph Foreman, seconded by Shawn Hogan. Carried All.

COMMITTEES

There were no committee reports at this meeting.

NEW BUSINESS

The following organizations were approved for $1,000 each upon motion by Prete, seconded by Foreman, to provide their respective services to relieve the burdens of government and to protect our workforce after much discussion regarding the added burden due to major layoffs and unemployment benefits expiring. The need for these services is the highest in memory and it was felt these Agencies could provide the necessary services collectively:

1 – Hornell Salvation Army
2 – Turning Point Hornell
3 – Steuben County Rural Ministries
4 – Hornell Area Humane Society
